City Lights Bed & Breakfast is located in Ithaca, NY. We're in the heart of Central New York's Finger Lakes, about four hours from NYC, a few hours from Canada, 90 minutes from Rochester, about an hour from Syracuse, about an hour from Binghamton, and just two miles west of downtown Ithaca, NY, high up on West hill, on Route 79 west.

LOCAL ITHACA DIRECTIONS:

Once you "land" in Ithaca, please follow RT. 79 WEST through the city, going west for two miles on the flats, then continue on through town, stay on RT. 79. The Inn is EXACTLY two miles from downtown Ithaca, up a very curvy road.

We are located between West Haven Rd. and Rachel Carson Way, (which is the entrance to Ithaca's Ecovillage) at the TOP of West Hill.

Follow RT. 79 West, which is the SAME as HECTOR ST. & MECKLENBURG RD., > continue on past VINEGAR HILL RD., >keep going past FALLS VIEW RD., >go past CAMPBELL RD., then past OAKWOOD RD., >continue on past WARREN PLACE, and finally pass by WEST HAVEN RD.

We are just above WEST HAVEN RD. on the left (south side) in the BIG, PALE YELLOW FARMHOUSE with large pine trees in the yard, at the top of the hill.

< Look for this sign at the white mail box, at the top of the hill, just across from our home. Look for the BLUE REFLECTORS and BLUE LIGHTS at the base of the tall pine trees on the left.

Please pull up to the BACK DOOR of our house to check-in, and we can take it from there. We can show you around and then show you where to un-load and park during your stay.

Driving From Rochester:

Take NY State Thruway east to Rt. 96B, heading southeast for about a 90 minute drive. Go through many small towns and finally pass through a great litle town called Trumansburg. Follow Rt. 96 south east some more, about ten miles into Ithaca, at the bottom of the hill, cross the canal, then take an immediate RIGHT on Taughanock Blvd., then another immediate RIGHT AGAIN on to SENECA ST.m look for Rt. 79 West.

Cross the canal AGAIN going up Rt. 79. Head UP the winding hillhill, about 1.75 miles, and you'll see the big pale yellow house WAY at the top of the hill.

Follow RT. 79 West, which is the SAME as HECTOR ST. & MECKLENBURG RD., > continue on past VINEGAR HILL RD., >keep going past FALLS VIEW RD., >go past CAMPBELL RD., then past OAKWOOD RD., >continue on past WARREN PLACE, and finally pass by WEST HAVEN RD.

Wine Tourists: ? take 96 "B"- east /south to Rt. 414 south, travelling through the Seneca wine country for about 15 miles, then heading due east on a short Rt. 5, connect to route 79 East, and follow signs to Ithaca. We are at the top of the big hill that overlooks downtown Ithaca on the South side of the road. We are located between West Haven Rd. and Rachel Carson Way.

From Syracuse:

Take Rt. 81 South to Cortland and follow route 13 South into Ithaca. Follow signs for 79 West, which is a right turn over the railroad tracks, go to second intersection, vearing right and head straight up the hill. We are at the top of the hill on the south side (left) in the big yellow house, with large pine trees in front.

From the New York City Area:

Head over the George Washington Bridge to route 80 west, go through northern New Jersey, through the Delware Water Gap, and take 380 West, through Scranton, PA.Then take Route 81 North, on through Binghamton. Take 81 north after Binghamton to exit 8, Whitney Point, and follow signs for Ithaca, taking 79 West the whole time. Go all the way through Ithaca, heading west on 79, cross route 13, and head up the hill on 79 west.

Alternately, after Binghamton, you can take route 17 west to the Owego exit, following signs for
96B heading northwest into Ithaca. Follow signs for 79 West, going west through town, on Seneca St.

Head through town and up the hill two miles west of the Octopus Bridge.

Alternate Routes from NYC:

Take the Palisades Parkway to the Tappan Zee Bridge, and follow the signs towards the NY State Thruway,
exit at ROUTE 17 north, following signs to Binghamton, then route 81 north, through to Whitney Point, and then on to 79 west into Ithaca.
